BRAND IDENTITY & LOGO DESIGN

A brand is the set of expectations, memories, stories and relationships that, taken together, account for a consumer’s decision to choose one product or service over another.

Your brand identity is the visual representation that people correlate with your business. An effective brand identity is the one which customers associate with a high level of credibility and quality.

The brand identity includes all visual elements such as logo, color palette, fonts, letterhead, business cards, envelopes, websites, uniforms, office aesthetics, social media, signage…

When we design your brand identity, we put a lot of effort in getting to know you in order to design a brand that truly reflects your own identity and personality.

Here’s an example of the brand identity that we developed for Ascend Chiropractic in Christiansburg, Virginia.

This is the “Ascend” brand guide.

The Design Process

We follow a 5 step process to guide our clients through the development of their brand identity and strategy.  This process usually takes between 3 to 5 weeks depending on clients availability and responsiveness.

Once the process and payment are completed, we share all developed brand assets (website, logo, colour palette, typography, business card design, etc) through secure files.

Proposal

Once you get in touch with us about your brand design project, we’ll get back to you asap to discuss your needs in greater detail and determine the scope and timeline. We’ll then send across a proposal and contract.

Discovery & Research

To start with, we’ll schedule a video call at your earliest convenience to establish a strong working relationship and making sure that we are able to cater for your expectations. We’ll typically discuss your practice, existing brand, clientele and explore options together.

Subsequently, we’ll ask you to complete a brand questionnaire touching on subjects such as aesthetic preferences, target audience, local competition etc. We’ll also set up an inspiration board on Pinterest where you will be able to gather designs, typography styles and colour palettes of your taste to guide our creative work.

The better we know you and understand your needs and preferences, the better the end-result.

Sketching & Conceptualising

This is where we let the creative juices flow!

We’ll work up and present to you 2 to 4 concepts which you’ll be able to feedback on and choose the one that resonates the most with you. These will be in line with the direction we’ve established together during the discovery phase.

We really believe feedback is a gift so we’ll seek your input throughout all stages of the process especially after designed concepts are presented to you.

Refinement for Perfection

Once we’ve narrowed it down to one concept, we’ll work with you to refine it to ensure perfect fit to your business aspirations.

This is where we review and perfect all visual elements (logo, typography, colour palette) according to your key message and unique selling points.

Even here, we’ll expect a few revisions in order for everything to be absolutely perfect.

We have ZERO interest in finishing up a project without you being 100% satisfied.

Delivery & Support

Once everything is done we will provide you with all necessary logo files (.pdf, .ai, .png, .jpg).

We’ll share a personalised brand guide including reasoning and narrative around your brand choices such as colour palette and typography.

If your branding package includes extras (business cards, stationary), these will also be delivered at this point.

We will also offer support on how to start using your new brand identity.

The Design Process

This is the 5 step process we use for guiding clients through a brand strategy & identity design process.

This usually takes 3-5 weeks from start to finish. The timeline depends largely on the client as there is often a bit of back-and-forth.

Once we’re done you will receive all necessary logo files, a developed colour palette,  typography suggestions and the business card design.

Please note, while this process facilitates smooth delivery by providing structure and clarity on both parts, the branding process is never as linear as this demonstrates. All stages are heavily intertwined and some back and forth is to be expected for optimum delivery.
